The situation in the field of interpreting for hearing impaired people is unsatisfactory in the Czech Republic at the moment: there are few interpreters here and quality of their service is not of the same level. Czech chamber of sign language interpreters decided to create an educating programme, which should help to improve contemporary situation. Graduates of this programme will be professinals owning a certificate, which garantees high quality of their interpreting service.

Whoever wants to obtain the certificate shall attend lectures, seminars and workshops during a few months, so that they improve their knowledge and practical skills concerning wide sphere of hearing impairment and of interpreting service connected with it. This programme has a credit system: after achieving a certain amount of credits, an attendant can register for an exam. After passing the exam,the attendant obtains a certificate Czech sign language interpreter or Signed Czech transliterator or Spoken Czech visualisator - according to his/her chosen orientation.
